Sich anders als sonst durch die Straßen bewegen, Sehenswürdigkeiten und Rituale erfinden, sich ausbreiten und Orte choreografieren, Blickwinkel umdeuten und Fotomotiv werden.
TREFFEN TOTAL 2018 ist eine einzigartige kollaborative Reisegruppe: 25 Hamburger und internationale Künstler*innen aus den Bereichen Tanz, Performance, Musik und Theater, die bereits beim TREFFEN TOTAL 2016 zusammengetroffen sind, gestalten einen vierwöchigen Arbeitsprozess als Kunstwerk. Dabei befragt TREFFEN TOTAL 2018 diesmal Mechanismen und Bewegungen des Tourismus als künstlerische Strategie und lädt zu Begegnungen und Präsentationen auf K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg und im Stadtraum ein. Über vier Wochen entsteht so parallel eine Vielfalt künstlerischer Ansätze, Experimente, Dialoge und Formate.
Der Großstadttourismus lotst Reisende an vermeintlich authentische Orte, kontrolliert Blicke und Bewegungen, betreibt Stadtmarketing und Geschichtsschreibung, markiert Sehenswertes und Erlebenswertes. Diese Gestaltung der öffentlichen Räume, Wege und Ereignisse schafft Möglichkeiten für künstlerische Intervention und soziale Choreographie. Mit TREFFEN TOTAL 2018 wird der Stadtraum zur fremden Umgebung, zur Bühne, zum Trainingsort oder Reiseziel. Publikum und Passant*innen sind immer wieder zu Begegnungen ins Theater, in den Proberaum und an öffentliche Orte eingeladen: Zum täglichen, kostenlosen TRAINING TOTAL, zu wöchentlichen TRAVELLING HOURS und zum abschließenden dreitägigen FEST auf K3 |Tanzplan Hamburg. Alle öffentlichen Aktivitäten werden kurzfristig online auf der TREFFEN TOTAL MAP angekündigt und anschließend dokumentiert.
Die nicht-hierarchische und prozessorientierte Organisationsstruktur von TREFFEN TOTAL 2018 ermöglicht eine vielstimmige und kritische Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema Tourismus und öffentlicher Raum. Konzept, Organisation und Autorschaft des Projektes werden von allen Teilnehmer*innen gemeinsam getragen. Mit diesem von Beginn an kollaborativen Ansatz widmet sich das Projekt alternativen und solidarischen Möglichkeiten der Kunstproduktion und -vermittlung.

TREFFEN TOTAL 2018 ist eine Weiterentwicklung des im Sommer 2010 am K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg von Künstler*innen des Kunstprojektes Sweet & Tender initiierten TREFFEN TOTAL. Es folgten 2014 das TREFFEN TOTAL LOKAL mit Hamburger Künstler*innen und das TREFFEN TOTAL 2016.

At K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg and in public spaces
To move around the streets in another way, to invent sights and rituals, to spread out and choreograph spaces, to redirect the angle of view and become a photo scene.
TREFFEN TOTAL 2018 is a unique collaborative travel group. 25 Hamburg and international dancers, performers, musicians and theatre makers, who have previously worked together at TREFFEN TOTAL 2016, outline a four-week artistic working process as a piece of art. This time around they question mechanisms and movements of tourism as an artistic strategy by inviting you to join encounters and presentations at K3 Tanzplan Hamburg, as well as in altering city spaces. Over four weeks a variety of artistic interventions, approaches, experiments, dialogs and formats will shape TREFFEN TOTAL 2018.
Big city tourism directs the travellers to reputedly authentic spots, channels views and movements, markets the city and it’s telling of history, highlights sights and defines what is worth experiencing. This organisation of public spaces, paths and events offers the opportunity for artistic intervention and social choreography! In TREFFEN TOTAL 2018 the city spaces will turn into unfamiliar districts, a stage, a training spot or travel destination. Spectators and passer-by’s are invited to join us in the theatre, the rehearsal spaces and public space. You can join the daily TRAINING TOTAL (Free of Charge), the weekly TRAVELLING HOURS and the final three-day long FEST (FESTIVITIES) at K3|Tanzplan Hamburg. All public activities will be announced online at short notice on the TREFFEN TOTAL MAP and documented afterwards.
The non-hierarchic and process-orientated organisational structure of TREFFEN TOTAL 2018 enables a polyphonic and critical confrontation with the topic of tourism and public spaces. Conceptualisation, organisation and authorship are shared by all participants of the project. The project is dedicated to developing alternative and solidary opportunities for art production and mediation and has been collaborative since the get go.
